Richard Mille x Colnago
Overload is a film that celebrates the partnership between Richard Mille and Italian racing bicycle builder Colnago. Finding inspiration in computer gaming and internet culture, it explores the limits of high performance by embracing the happy mistakes that are now a common part of our digital lives. On this journey, we follow the wheel of a generic elite cyclist – part team rider, part bot – as he navigates away from the realms of normality, uncovering liminal spaces and gorgeous dream-like glitches, as he moves ever forward to the rhythm of an upbeat electronic heartbeat.

As we’ve said before, subcultures are our thing at MilleDollars, and few make our littlehearts beat faster than the expansive universe of gaming. For Richard Mille’s latest partnership with cycling brand Colnago, we drew inspiration from that world, looking in-particular at gameplay glitches: those small malfunctions that can create unexpectedly memorable effects.
Far from ruining a game, these moments often do the opposite and some of the most iconic gaming experiences happen precisely because something briefly breaks all the rules.
This idea works because Richard Mille itself is something of a glitch in the world of haute horology: an unexpected newcomer that rose rapidly to the top and became the brand others aspire to match.
It is also a powerful visual reminder that technology has always been central to Richard Mille’s success, driving the brand to push further in the products it creates, the partners it chooses and even the way it presents itself to the world through its marketing material.

So how did we bring all this idea to life? The biggest challenge, unsurprisingly, was post-production. An enormous amount of work went into giving the film its tone and texture, from extensive 3D work to the painstaking refinement of every visual detail.
The goal was to hold the film on a very precise edge: a world where nothing is entirely logical, yet every image feels intentional, controlled and visually coherent.
Achieving this polished result required real expertise during the shoot and meticulous planning for post-production. Every detail had to be anticipated so the final effect was clear from the start. The challenge was greater because the mountain and city environments were filmed in real conditions rather than against a green screen, bringing all the unpredictability of live outdoor locations. As on projects such as Neural Overdrive, we put our trust in Magnetism’s Redot team who once again excelled.
