Role

Direction, Production, Postproduction

This film is a love letter to the solar system. It shows Pharrell Williams in the intimacy of his LA studio, speaking from the heart about his fascination with space and the planet Mars. Delving into the inspiration behind the RM 52-05 Tourbillon Pharrell Williams, it also highlights the way Richard Mille goes all-in to understand its partner’s wildest fantasies when interpreting an idea, a symbol and a desire.

“Can you get the next plane to L.A?”

Everyone has their own origin story and this is ours. It’s the project that kick-started MilleDollars as an agency, the spark that ignited our fire.

And everything began with a last-minute trip to Los Angeles to meet with one of the most influential music producers in the world…

Back in 2019, Richard Mille hadn’t yet fully considered the potential of film and video, especially on YouTube, as a main part of its core marketing strategy.

So, you can imagine our surprise when a late-night call came in to ask if we could cross the Atlantic, on the next flight out.

We grabbed a camera, some mics and jumped in a cab. Twelve hours later we were in Hollywood, having an inspirational conversation with Pharrell Williams about the stars.

Then, when we got back to Paris, we edited the footage and presented it to our client, alongside our wider ideas for content to support the watch’s global launch. These included a pack shot, a savoir faire film and some other bits.

It was a moonshot but we’re glad to say it landed. And the rest, as they say, is history.
