A twirling fantasy that delves into the luxury of nostalgia. This project for ultra luxury performer Henry Jacques frames the Toupies (that’s spinning tops in French) in glorious abstract light. Years in the making, strong in form yet delicate in detail, these precious crystal containers are made entirely by hand, painstakingly crafted into complex patterns of planes and angles, faceted like gemstones to capture and reflect the light, while evoking the character of the fragrance within.
When you strip business back to basics, at MilleDollars we deal in light.
In the tradition of filmmakers going back to Les Frères Lumières, the physical essence of our craft is capturing luminescence as it dances through our camera’s lens, reflected off the objects we choose to frame.
That’s why we were particularly excited to receive this brief from Henry Jacques: a line of products that also put the focus on light, harnessing the diffraction of rays through cut crystal to evoke an abstract sense of scent and emotion.
Inspired by this idea, we set about shaping not only the visual aesthetic of the film but also the audience’s emotional journey.
The result is a kaleidoscope of tones and hues, glinting and scintillating in every direction.
The gorgeous natural colours of Henry Jacques' perfume take centre stage, diffracted into a million dazzling shades, swirling across the screen and inviting viewers to step aboard this carousel of sensations.
