Using film as the medium to display a watch offers many advantages over still photography, especially thanks to editing. This enables the jumping between points of interest, changing scale and even entering a macro perspective, all within an instant. Not only does this bring certain characteristics to life, such as the elegance of the movement or the texture of the materials it is made from, but it also delivers a better picture overall of the watch, as well as giving free rein to creative exploration.
“It’s beautiful… Is it CGI?”
In our long relationship with Richard Mille, this is by far the most common feedback we get from people.
The answer, of course, is always NO and despite having a lot of respect for our friends who create in CGI, it can never quite live up to what we can achieve by doing things for REAL.
Driven by a spirit of restless experimentation, we continually push the envelope of what is possible.
No two of our projects are the same and we have won many awards for our creativity in this field.
We’ve conjured everything from shadow-drenched industrial landscapes to ethereal, light-soaked reveries, playing with reflection, wind, shadow, colour, mirrors, and perspective.
If you can imagine it, we’ve probably tried it, and if we haven’t, it’s only a matter of time.
Of course, when working with priceless timepieces, safety is paramount, and thankfully our track record speaks for itself.
We always ensure every watch is handled with utmost care, whether immersing pieces in viscous liquids or suspending them near intense studio lights.
So now, thanks to years of experience shooting watches in studios around the world, MilleDollars is recognised as one of the pre-eminent horology media experts on the planet.
